Pet owners are being reminded that 2013 dog and cat licenses must be purchased by March 29, 2013, to avoid a late fee of $20.

Licenses are available at the Newton Police Department from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The license fee for altered dogs and/or cats is $15. The license fee for unaltered dogs and/or cats is $25.  Pet owners can receive a civil penalty fine of up to $150 for not having their pet licensed.
