Connie L. (Ryther) Raridon

Connie L. (Ryther) Raridon, 63, of Newton died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton, under the care of Skiff Hospice.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the First United Methodist Church, 210 N. Second Ave. E. in Newton, officiated by Rev. Merle E. Smith of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Newton. Burial will follow the memorial service at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Memorials in Connie’s name for a few special memorial projects may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Raridon Family on the envelope.

Survivors include her husband, Dale of Newton; children, Craig (Cindi) Raridon of Omaha, Neb., Carrie (Aaron) Baird of Monroe, Jack Raridon of Newton, Scott (Traci) Raridon of West Des Moines and David Raridon of Kimberling City, Mo.; her 10 grandchildren, Carly, Ava, Lilli, Laney, Scott Jr., Sam, John, Kate, Lila and Charlie; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Thia and Ari; her mother, Bonnie Ryther of Newton; brothers and sister, Gary (Vicki) Ryther of Newton, Chuck (Tammy) Ryther of Marion and Melody Ryther of Newton; sisters-in-law, Kate Ryther of Newton and Ann Raridon of Newton; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne, in 1990 and two brothers, Jim Ryther in 2008 and Douglas in infancy.
