• Stephanie L. Yoakum, 38, of Newton was arrested at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday at her residence, 614 S. Fourth Ave. W., on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear for a compliance hearing for child support. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Juan Morales-Macias, 24, of Newton was charged with driving with a suspended license when his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of E. Second St. N. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• William G. Pollock, 22, of Grinnell was charged with driving with a suspended license and harassment of a public official after his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday in the 3500 block of Highway 6 East. Pollock initially provided a false name to the officer. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Newton Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 15 and older.
