Cooperatives in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wyoming, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, North Carolina and Wisconsin will use the money to develop a smart grid. By upgrading their systems they can save energy. This means homes and business will save money on electric bills.
