Falls Prevention Awareness Day
Newton Mayor Chaz Allen officially recognized Saturday, Sept. 22, as Falls Prevention Awareness Day earlier this month. This year’s theme, “Standing Together to Prevent Falls,” seeks to unite professionals, older adults, caregivers and family members to play a part in raising awareness and preventing falls in the older adult population. Park Centre offered a Balance Clinic on Thursday to educate and engage the public regarding falls. Pictured is Mayor Allen joining Park Centre residents and team members. Guided by Christian compassion, Park Centre and WesleyLife support the independence, health and well-being of older adults wherever they call home. Park Centre offers independent and assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehabilitation as well as adult day and home health services.
