Esther (Myers, Boyd) Faidley died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. 

The oldest of six children, Esther, was born July 14, 1918, in Monroe County, Iowa, to Ivan W. and Florence E. (Butcher) Myers.  Esther graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1936 and after teaching rural school in Malaka Township, worked in the Industrial Engineering Department at Maytag in the 1950s and later was the Office Manager for the Jasper County Medical Center where she retired in the early 1980s.
