Record falls as Aquagirls dominate triangular

The pool at the Newton Y hasn't been much louder than it was Thursday night. Especially when Carly Colville hit the water to anchor the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 

With a substantial lead and a two-year-old school record within reach, the junior powered through the race's final 50 meters to a deafening cheer from Aquagirl fans, while a frantic coach Sarah Patterson looked on.
 

As soon as Colville touched the finish, Patterson knew it was a new record via her stopwatch, but fans had to wait a few seconds before the time was posted. When they saw it, their cheer went to another level.
