WILLIAMSON — A family visitation for Raymond Elliott, 73, of Williamson, formerly of Newton, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. No services are planned. Interment will be at a later date at the Zion Cemetery near Williamson. Memorials are requested to the Circle of Life Hospice-Legacy Lodge in Chariton.

Raymond William Elliott was born September 6, 1938 in Russell, Iowa to Robert and Elizabeth (Rohrer) Elliott, he was the youngest of 10 children. Raymond attended school in Russell and Chariton.

Raymond owned Newton Plumbing and Heating for several years in Newton. He then came to Chariton and worked at Johnson Machine Works. If you didn’t know how to do something at Johnson’s you were told to ask Ray. After retiring he enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He loved to tear down houses and rebuild them; he was an original “flip this house” man. Ray liked to build all kinds of things and to do woodworking.
