Blood center seeking donations in wake of 9/11 anniversary

DES MOINES — This September, LifeServe Blood Center is remembering those lost in the 9/11 tragedy and asking blood donors to give back in their honor.

All blood donors who register to donate blood in the month of September are eligible to redeem a commemorative "Remember September" T-shirt in thanks for their support of blood donation. Local residents can make a life-saving blood donation at the next Johnson Funeral Service grand opening blood drive, which be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept.  6, in the Bloodmobile at Johnson Funeral Service, 321 E. Third St. N.
