Helen Elaine Owens, 87, of Newton, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 22, 2012, at Park Centre Health Care, under the care of Wesley Life Hospice, in Newton.

  Memorial services for Helen will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorials are being designated in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at the funeral home.

Helen the daughter of, Arthur George and Kathryn (Hummel) Hoffert, was born April 13, 1925 in Malaka Township, Jasper County, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School.
