First UMC to hold outdoor service

First United Methodist Church in Newton will host a special outdoor worship service 11 a.m. Sunday in the north parking lot at 210 N. Second Ave. E. This blended service will include an old-fashioned hymn sing, praise songs, and other special music.

Immediately following the service, a free lunch, complete with summertime foods will be served. Those who wish to participate should bring lawn chairs, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats.

In case of extreme heat or inclement weather, worship will be held in the church fellowship hall. Park Centre worship will meet at 10 a.m. in its usual location.
