Redbirds walk over I-Cubs
DES MOINES (I-Cubs) — The Cubs snapped their three-game winning streak in a 11-3 rout by the Redbirds Monday night at Principal Park. Despite outhitting Memphis (48-82) 12-10, Iowa’s (50-80) offense could not cash in, going 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position.
Iowa’s defense also had a case of the Mondays, committing a season-high four errors. The pitching staff also surrendered a season-high eleven walks in the game.
Ty’Relle Harris tossed four innings of three-run ball (two earned), struck out four and allowed just two hits, but walked four. Harris started with a shaky first surrendering two runs on two walks, a single, and a wild pitch.
