Jasper Community Foundation announces Maytag Guest House sold

Dan Skokan, president of the Jasper Community Foundation, has announced the Jasper Community Foundation received and accepted an offer from Walt Smith on Monday to purchase the former Maytag Guest House.

The foundation received the Maytag Guest House as a legacy gift from Whirlpool Corporation. According to Smith, he is planning to retain the commercial nature of the guest house by utilizing it for board meetings of his companies, a venue to host receptions and would like to house community development organizations in the lower level office space at a very modest cost.

Smith is also planning to maintain a personal office within the home.
