Area students earn INF scholarships

Iowa Newspaper Foundation scholarships are awarded to students preparing for careers in the newspaper industry and are provided through contributions from Iowa newspapers and the Pages for the 21st Century program. One Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarship for this year in the amount of $1,250 went to Lauren Peters, who graduated from Prairie City Monroe High School with plans to attend the University of Iowa.

The INF received 60 applications for the 10 scholarships, and will offer scholarships for students again next year. Application forms will be provided to all public and private high schools in Iowa as well as college and university journalism and mass communication departments. Applications will be available in September at www.INAnews.com.
