PHILEDELPHIA (UNI) — The University of Northern Iowa football team has landed two student-athletes on the 2012 College Sports Journal preseason Football Championship Subdivision All-America squad, it was announced Tuesday.

Both junior placekicker Tyler Sievertsen and senior long snapper John Hubbard made the preseason All-America third team. This is Hubbard’s first preseason honor for the 2012 season while this counts as Sievertsen’s seventh preseason honor.

Sievertsen earned four All-America distinctions following the 2011 season — his first as the Panthers’ starting kicker. In addition to a first-team selection by BSN last season, Sievertsen was a Phil Steele second-team nod, a second-team All-American by The Sports Network and a third-team pick by the Associated Press.
