Springboard expands, thanks to help from UL

The acquisition of Springboard Engineering in Newton by Underwriter’s Laboratory, the global independent safety science company, has been good for Springboard. The purchase has allowed the reliability testing and engineering advisory company that sprang from the death of Maytag to expand and improve.

Springboard has expanded across First Avenue East from its current location to include offices and safety and equipment testing areas. They will be able to better serve key customers in the HVAC, appliances and components segments and better support global manufacturers.

In addition, Springboard has just completed a new “burn unit” where testing by fire will be conducted on selected appliances.
