Kenneth K. Knox

Kenneth Kermit Knox, 83, of Newton passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 2, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice in Newton.

A funeral service for Kenneth will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, which has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are being designated in Kenneth’s name or to Skiff Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.

Kenneth, the son of Glenn and Fern (Briggs) Knox, was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Tracy, Iowa. He attended Tracy Schools. Kenneth served his country with the U.S. Army in Korea. He received a bronze star with valor. He was a resident of the Newton area since October 1949. Kenneth was employed by the Maytag Company in the shipping and receiving department, retiring Sept. 30, 1988, from the power plant department.
