JCARL to offer low-cost spay, neuter clinic for cats

Two mobile clinics scheduled for later this month will offer area residents a chance to get their outside barn or alley cat spayed or neutered at a special reduced rate.

The clinics, sponsored by the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society, will be conducted by certified staff from the Animal Protection and Education Charity. The clinics will be held at the Jasper County Animal Rescue League, 5411 Liberty Avenue in Newton on Aug. 15 and Aug. 29, beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

During the APE clinics, fees for spaying female cats are $50, and fees for neutering male cats are $40. Also included in the fee are vaccinations for distemper and rabies, a microchip identification implant, and parasite control good for 30 days.
