Watering community
center lawn is wasteful

To the editor:

As I listen to Des Moines officials ask their residents for voluntary water use restrictions, I ponder the situation going on at the Jasper County Community Center. I have watched over the last couple of weeks as temperatures have soared into the triple digits, the JCCC continues to water daily.

Not only are they watering daily, but they water all day. In the heat of the day, watering is wasteful. Please tell me the water bill for the JCCC isn’t being paid for by us, the taxpayers of Jasper County.
