I’ll admit it: I’m a political junkie, and not just local, state or national politics. I actually have been known to sit through an entire session of Prime Minister’s Questions on C-SPAN from time to time.

But, even more so, I’m a history junkie. In high school, they ran out of classes to offer me my senior year, and if I wanted to continue to play baseball, I had to enroll in some independent study classes to maintain my academic eligibility.

So I took a history class. I took 20th Century History as a sophomore, so that was out. I had studied all 200-plus years (at that time) of American History, and I had even taken a course on World History.
