Despite heat, fair now under way
The Jasper County Fair got off to a rousing start Friday, despite the heat. The horse show, as well as the 4H dog and cat shows are all in the books. On Saturday, Open Class judging began and the entries are now on display.
Sunday was a busy day at the fair, with the tractor pull and the llama show in the morning and the poultry show in the afternoon. Sunday evening highlights included the free dinner, sponsored by the Jasper County Fairboard, and the Barnyard Battles, that pitted teams competing in farm-related tasks with a twist.
The fair continues today with the 4H and FFA sheep show in the morning and the annual fair parade through downtown Colfax, beginning at 7 p.m. this evening.
