Donna L. Beaver, 72, of Carlisle, formerly of Newton, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home. Memorials in Donna’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Donna, the daughter of Delbert and Dorothy (McMurray) Hammer, was born April 2, 1940 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1959. Donna worked in the research department for the Maytag Company. She then went on to work as a secretary for the Des Moines Schools for 25 years. Donna was united in marriage with Roger Beaver on Feb. 14, 1993. She was a member of the Pandora Club at the Hartford Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. Donna enjoyed reading. She also cherished the time she spent with her family, who cherished her and who will miss her very much.

Donna is survived by her husband, Roger of Carlisle; son, Christopher Morgan of Fort Collins, Colo.; granddaughter, Heather Urias of Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Ava Jo; and her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
