Aurora Park trail work nearly done

Troy Eddy of Howrey Construction of Rockwell City cleans up some equipment at Aurora Park Monday. The crew was wrapping up work on the addition of the Hike and Bike Trail through Newton. Newton Public Works Director Keith Laube said the park work will eventually tie in with the trail at Agnes Patterson Park, making a continuous trail from the Jasper County Historical Museum. The Aurora Park work was paid in part (80 percent) by an Iowa Department of Transportation’s Transportation Enhancement Grant. The total cost was $57,506.
