Thank you to Newton’s first responders

To the editor:

On the morning of Sunday, July 1, I dialed 911 for a medical emergency involving my husband. As a result of that call, the ambulance was dispatched to our home here in Newton. I would like to express our gratitude and to sing the praises of the Newton Fire & Rescue staff that responded in our time of need.

Each of the indidviduals that we came in contact with, from the dispatcher and EMTs to the Newton police officer, were amazing. They treated us with compassion and professionalism that made the entire experience less frightening. I cannot say enough about how indebted we are to them.
