Raiders, Tigerhawks have seasons ended Saturday

The baseball season ended for two Jasper County schools on Saturday, as Colfax-Mingo and Collins-Maxwell-Baxter both suffered defeats in Class 2A District play in Alleman.

In the first game of the two, the Raiders (1-21) fell into an 8-0 hole in the first inning to Roland-Story and weren’t able to climb out of it. The Norsemen then put two runs on in the third and one in the fourth to evoke the 10-run rule and finish off CMB in the fifth inning. Brady Stover, Aaron Haupert and Nick Carroll contributed the Raiders’ three hits in the game.

In the later game, the Tigerhawks fell to South Hamilton by a score of 4-2 and ended their season with an overall record of 15-17. C-M improved its record from last season by four wins and will keep all but five players from this year’s squad.
