Skiff Auxiliary announces 2012 scholarship winners

The Skiff Medical Center Auxiliary recently honored the 11 winners of the 2012 auxiliary scholarships, totaling $6,500.

The scholarships, for students pursuing higher education in health-related fields, are awarded on the basis of academic and professional achievement, along with other factors. Those receiving nursing scholarships included Claire Funke, $1,000 in honor of Lydia E. Swihart; Tara Van Rees, $1,000 in honor of Maxine and Sterling Swanger; Rebecca Miller, $500 in honor of Joyce and Janet Slycord; and Bailey Zegers, $500 in honor of Lois Vogel.

Those receiving $500 health-related scholarships included Jordan Benson, Jenna Blunt, Serena Lester, Kaci McCleary, Samantha Nilles, Leah Norcross (in memory of Ronald Ross) and Katelyn Van Wyk (Geneva Trost Field of Medicine Scholarship).
