Penalty, fee or tax?

Semantics? Who really cares? It surely doesn’t matter. But once again the word “tax” becomes a rallying point for those who seek only to keep the country divided until the November election.

I agree with Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts basing his landmark decision on the taxing authority of the legislative branch of the federal triumvirate. I applaud his decision, and only hope others will as they learn that President Obama had the guts to tackle one of the greatest issues that impact governments, business and industry and every family in America — health care and its costs. Do those who oppose the law really understand or care that only those who fail to acquire health insurance will be taxed? Seems fair to me, for if they fail to comply, their health care costs are then passed on to the rest of us to absorb via premium increases. That is highly unfair to 99 percent of our population.

The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare for those who seek to demonize the issue), is one of the more historic acts of recent history that truly seeks to do what government is meant to do — protect its citizens.
