Lynnville teen accuses early-morning burglar of sexual abuse

A Lynnville teen told authorities she was forcibly fondled early Saturday morning after she woke to find a 42-year-old man rummaging through bags in her bedroom.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday afternoon that Gary L. Eilander of Lynnville has been charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree sexual abuse for allegedly breaking into a home near the intersection of Cross Street and Main Street at 4:30 a.m.

Deputies said the subject entered the residence and went upstairs where three females were sleeping. The 17-year-old victim stated in the report that she woke to find the subject, later determined to be Eilander, near her bed. She told deputies the defendant then began rubbing her back and put his hand down her pants.
