Wright to play in East-West Senior All-Star Game

Newton senior Megan Wright will get a chance to represent Newton one more time on the high school soccer field this weekend when she takes part in the 2012 East-West Senior All-Star Game in Norwalk on Saturday.

The game will begin at 3 p.m. and will feature seniors from across the state. Wright will play on the East squad, which features players from schools such as Bettendorf, Muscatine, North Scott and the Cedar Rapids schools.

Wright, who led the team with 11 goals this season, won’t be the only person representing Newton in the game, however. Cardinals coach Sackda Viravong will be coaching in the game after being selected by Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
