Newton law enforcement officials will once again be participating in the statewide Special Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) during a seven day period around the Fourth of July holiday.
According to information released today in Newton City Administrator's weekly report, Iowa officers made 455 drunk driving arrests during last year's program, and 12,700 more traffic violations were reported by 225 law enforcement officers.
