Elks Lodge serves up barbecue to shelter

On Sunday, members of  the Newton Elks Lodge volunteered their time in providing the residents of the Central Iowa Shelter in Des Moines a barbecue lunch Sunday afternoon. They served more than 75 meals to the residents. Left: Brooke Chambers presents Ken, supervisor of the shelter, with a $250 donation that will be used to assist other needs.
