Debbie Lynn Strickland Vanater

Debbie Lynn Strickland Vanater of Marshalltown, formerly of Newton, died unexpectedly on Sunday June 24, 2012 in Iowa City, Iowa.

The daughter of the late Rex Strickland and the late Martha (Brown) Strickland Utsinger, Debbie was born Oct. 10, 1965, in Iowa City. She grew up in and around the Newton area before moving to the Marshalltown area 20 years ago. Debbie is survived by her son, Jordan Strickland; two granddaughters, Mikiah and Janaya; her siblings and step-siblings; and many nieces nephews, family and friends.

There will be a celebration of Debbie’s life and visitation with her family and friends on Saturday June 30, 2012, at the Log Cabin at Maytag Park in Newton. Condolences may be sent through the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown.
