Robert J. Lust Jr.

Robert J. “Bob” Lust Jr., 58, of Newton died on Monday, June 25, 2012, at his home.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Bob’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Bob was born on May 19, 1954, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He lived in multiple places as a military child, until his family settled in Newton, Iowa. Bob graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1972, the Oklahoma School of Horseshoeing in 1979 and DMACC in 2007. After 25 years together, Bob married Patricia Fleming on Aug. 12, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nev. Bob worked at the Maytag Company in shipping and receiving for many years and then later as a semi driver for Contract Transport. He also was a Farrier at the Iowa State Fair for many years. Besides Bob’s love for horses he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and playing slots. He was a member of the UAW Local 997 and the American Farrier Association.
