Newton completes another wild rally, sweeps Knoxville

About two weeks ago, the Newton baseball team stunned Grinnell with a three-run rally in the seventh inning before winning in extras.

Apparently the Cardinals felt like outdoing that rally Monday night.

Trailing 7-1 in the seventh inning, Newton (12-11, 10-3 Little Hawkeye Conference) rallied for six runs to tie the game before senior Brian Rose cashed in the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth to earn a sweep over Knoxville at Eversman Field.
