Colfax-Mingo baseball, softball fall to Norsemen

The Colfax-Mingo baseball and softball teams both were at Roland-Story on Monday in Heart of Iowa Conference action, and both suffered defeats to the Norsemen. Baseball fell 3-2 in nine innings, while softball lost 15-4.

In baseball, the Tigerhawks led 2-1 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, when Roland-Story scored the tying run to send the game into extras. Colfax-Mingo scattered five hits, while junior Connor Hainer and senior Camden Borts scored the two runs.

In softball, the Tigerhawks trailed only 7-5 before the Norsemen blew the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Roland-Story had 14 hits, while Colfax-Mingo had four.
