Jasper County Barnyard Babies contest set for July 21

The annual Jasper County Barnyard Babies contest is set for Saturday, July 21, at the Colfax Mingo High School.

Everyone will receive a ribbon for participating. First, second and third place winners (per category) will receive a gift, with the first place winner riding on the float during the parade on Monday, July 23.

Information that must be provided at registration includes the child’s name, parents’ names, town, class and age. Registration the day of the contest will begin at 8:15 a.m. and closes at 9 a.m.

Contest classes are Master Cuddles and Lil Miss Cuddles, 0 to 6 months; Mr. Baseball and Lil Miss Softball, 7 to 12 months; Mr. Lifeguard and Miss Bathing Beauty, 1 year; Mr. Farmer and Lil Miss Milkmaid, 2 years; Prince and Princess, 3 years; and King and Queen, 4 years. Participants should dress according to their class. Props within reason are allowed.
