As with most years, this season’s IZOD IndyCar Series standings feature all of the regular drivers and teams near the top of the standings.

There’s Andretti, Ganassi, Penske, Power, Franchitti, Dixon and Castroneves, but right in the middle there’s one name that doesn’t quite seem right.

That spot belongs to Simon Pagenaud, an IndyCar rookie that has taken the one-car team of Schmidt-Hamilton Motorsports and placed it among some of the giants and legends of the series. Going into the Iowa Corn Indy 250, Pagenaud ranks sixth in overall points and is focused to keep his surprise run alive.
