Despite new package, similar finish expected for Iowa Corn Indy 250

In its five previous installments, the Iowa Corn Indy 250 hasn’t exactly gained the reputation of a calm, relaxing race.

Now in year six, the combination of a close points race, heat race qualifying, a new chassis and a downforce-reducing package can almost guarantee an exciting product for the fans at Iowa Speedway on Saturday night.

“Obviously you get to know the track better each year, but this year is a different car,” said Tony Kanaan, 2010 Iowa Corn Indy 250 champ. “It’s hard to say what you’re going to expect, but with the track you at least feel more comfortable every year you come back. It’s hard to predict, but I think we’ll have a good race.”
