On Monday, the Newton Daily News will officially welcome a new leadership team to its editorial staff.

Bob Eschliman, originally of Boone and current publisher of The Clarinda Herald-Journal, will begin his duties as NDN editor Monday. He has worked as a community journalist in many Iowa communities for more than 12 years and said he looks forward to bringing his experience to Newton.

“Newton is a very vibrant community, and my family and I are very excited to join it,” he said. “Not only will we be closer to family, but we will be in a community that has much to offer a young family.”
