Class of ’47 holds reunion events

The Newton Senior High School Class of 1947 gathered and celebrated 65 years on June 8 and 9.

Doris Douglas Fisher fixed the window at Pappy’s Antique Mall. Bonnie Swalwell Eilert furnished items for display.

Festivities began with a wine and cheese party at the home of Carol Soderbloom Proctor, with co-host David Hammer, followed by Maid Rites at Maytag Park. On June 9, the day began in the NHS gym, with Avery Wilson treating classmates and spouses to brunch in honor of his late wife Delores Terpstra Wilson, who also graduated in 1947.
