Incident at child day care center reported in Colfax

The Colfax Police Department reported an unusual incident on Monday involving elderly occupants of a vehicle attempting to take photos of children.

Lisa Nichol of 538 Wall St. in Colfax reported to Colfax police that two girls at the day care she runs from her home told her two people, described as approximately 60 years of age, were attempting to take photos of them from a gray or silver four-door passenger vehicle. The girls testified that the female passenger was clapping and yelling, "girls, girls," at them to get their attention.

When confronted by Nichol, the couple drove away. No license number was obtained and the vehicle was not located.
