Norsemen sweep Raider baseball and softball

It was a tough night for Collins-Maxwell-Baxter on the diamonds Monday night, as Roland-Story earned a 15-1 win in baseball and 11-3 victory in softball.

The CMB softball team managed 11 hits in its loss, but seven errors were what ultimately led to the Norsemen victory. Eighth-grader Payge Jurdens led the offensive effort with three hits and a run, while junior Brittany Peterson and senior Katelyn Findlay each contributed two hits. Junior Cheyanne Warne had six strikeouts and gave up 10 hits in the loss from the circle.

As for baseball, the Raiders managed just three hits in the game, coming from senior Caleb Durham, freshman Seth Balke and sophomore Logan Cory. The Raiders kept the game close for the first three innings, but Roland-Story managed to space out 13 runs between the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to widen the gap.
