The Newton Municipal Band played a concert last week at the Maytag Bowl. Also playing several fun pieces were Deb Stoulil’s students from Aurora Heights and Woodrow Elementary, along with adults, college students and Newton Senior High School students in the city band. The audience enjoyed a variety of music and a beautiful evening.

There will be entertainment on Thursday evenings through July at the Maytag Bowl. At 7 p.m. June 14 (tonight), there will be piano players doing a concert. On Thursday, June 21, the municipal band will again have a concert at 7:30 p.m. They will play the final time this year around the downtown square following the July 4 parade. During other Thursday evenings, the park board has talent lined up to perform at 7 p.m.
