Dana Samuelson

Dana A. (Dykstra) Samuelson, 37, of Newton died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home in Newton.

A celebration of her life service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, conducted by Rev. Gary Marzolf, Skiff Hospice chaplain and pastor First United Methodist Church in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Dana Samuelson Memorial Fund, to be used for her children, may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials also may be mailed to the funeral home. If mailing please add, Attn: Samuelson Family.

Survivors include her daughter, Britney Samuelson of Newton; her son, Blake Samuelson of Newton; parents, Pam (Dennis) Herrema of Monroe and Craig (Cindy) Dykstra of Canon City, Colo.; her brother, Eric Dykstra of Newton; her sister, Meghan Skow of Davenport; and grandparents, Eloise Dykstra of Newton and Carl and Judy Wilson of Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Laurel Dykstra.
