State orders Iowa nursing home to pay $15,000 fine

WASHINGTON (AP) — State regulators say workers at an Iowa nursing home left an injured resident lying on the floor without helping, so a $15,000 fine was ordered.

The Des Moines Register reports that a video of the December incident at All American Restorative Care in Washington shows the woman lying on the floor while workers enjoy a Christmas party nearby.

Workers helped the resident into bed 46 minutes after the fall. Later she was taken to a hospital because of a cut on her head that required four staples.
