First graders take trip to ‘farm’

Newton FFA member Dakotah Osborn shows a lamb to Thomas Jefferson Elementary first graders during Newton Senior High School’s third annual Ag Day. First graders from Berg Elementary and Newton Christian School also participated in the event promoting agricultural literacy. FFA members showed the students poultry, pigs, gardening, lambs and calves, horses, tractor safety and small animals, which were brought by FFA to the high school.
