Iowa woman accused in fire at in-law’s house
DES MOINES (AP) — A Des Moines woman is suspected of setting fire to her mother-in-law’s house after an altercation.
Des Moines fire department spokesman Brian O’Keefe told the Register that 32-year-old Lesley Duckworth set fire to the basement of the house about 11 p.m. Saturday. The owner, 75-year-old Christenia Duckworth, and another woman were inside at the time but got out safely.
Lesley Duckworth and her husband live in the house, which sustained more than $20,000 in damage.
