Resident glad for Skiff expansion

To the Editor,

I just spent eight days in the swing bed unit at Skiff as I recuperated from hip replacement surgery, and my stay there was as pleasant as it could possibly be. Everything about my recuperation was the very best, from the excellent doctor and nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, food and even the lovely room itself — which was like staying in a 4-star hotel — all contributed to help me gain my independence once again so I could go home. If one is having surgery, the swing bed unit is the place to go to recuperate and get you rehabilitated, back on your feet and home.

I believe Newton is extremely fortunate to have Skiff. So it was with great interest I read in Wednesday’s paper about Skiff’s plans for expansion. I am glad to see the Maytag building put to wonderful use, and the plans to fully utilize the hospice and swing bed units sounds like a good one.

Skiff, you rock.
