NDN kicks off contest
The Newton Daily News has started an interactive contest called Iowa Speedway Auto Racing Challenge, which kicks off this weekend with the Daytona 500. Each week, participants pick the top 10 finishers in order. Each person is then awarded points for placing the drivers in the correct order.
The Daily News will award a $25 weekly prize for the local contestant who scores the most points. Over the course of the racing season, whoever scores the most points will win 2013 Iowa Speedway tickets and other Iowa Speedway merchandise.
The contest is free, and local contestants also can view and compare their picks against VIPs in Newton, including city and business leaders.
“Much like fantasy football, individuals can form their own private groups for family, friends, co-workers and more,” NDN Ad Director Jeff Holschuh said. “It is a great opportunity to catch the racing fever and compete against some local businesses.”
