Homer E. Lindsey

Homer E. Lindsey, 86, of Monroe died on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Palo Alto Cemetery, 4968 Highway S74 South in rural Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials to the First Baptist Church in Monroe may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials also may be mailed to the funeral home. Please add; Attn: Lindsey Family to the envelope.

Those left to honor Homer’s memory are his wife of 57-plus years, JoAnne; two sons, Clark (Angela) Yarbrough of Virginia and Ricky (Monica) Lindsey of Washington; daughter, Vicky (Ed) McClelland of Kellogg; his five grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua (Brooke), Patrick (Michelle), Douglas and Corina; seven great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Darlene Willson of Des Moines and Barbra Stiffler of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Walter, Matthew and Bernard Lindsey; and two sisters, Lilly Koppin and Helen Dunn.
